The ideal candidate will contribute to our team by:

  1. Leads project analysis, project profile, and site analysis during initial phase of project development.
  2. Leads the collaboration of General Contractor/Estimator, Quality Control, subcontractors, and suppliers for development of cost effective and constructible solutions for design issues.
  3. Leads the establishment of project scope and objectives, defining/interpreting the scope of project documents and owner requirements, project schedule, project budget, and resources needed for project.
  4. Assisting and/or leading the Studio Manager with the Project Team Kick-off Meeting and Collaborative Design Workshops.
  5. Effectively executing project scope, objectives, requirements, schedule, budget, and resources from schematic through construction document phases independently or directing a small team.
  6. Mentoring others on how to create construction details, including details and standards, and review shop drawings.
  7. Creates, develops, and revises construction documents using Revit or CAD including directing others in the development of construction documents.
  8. Researching and identifying materials.
  9. Incorporates other disciplines designs. Ensuring effective project collaboration between disciplines (e.g. MEP and Structural.)
  10. Independently reviewing shop drawings.
  11. Serving as a contact for the field during construction administration.
  12. Communicating with Studio Managers, KBA stakeholders, clients, contractors, and subcontractors on a frequent basis about project status.
  13. Maintains consultant relationships.
  14. Develops and/or continuously improves client relationships.
  15. Maintains professional and technical knowledge.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or experience in lieu of education is preferred. Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  2. 6+ years of experience in a similar role is required.
  3. 6+ years of previous experience with AutoCAD and Revit is required.
  4. Previous experience in KBA’s building type is preferred.
  5. Knowledge of interior and exterior building code requirements is required.
  1. The ability to work collaboratively with other team members is required.
  2. The ability to lead and manage projects through your own work and directing the team is required.
  3. Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
  4. Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office) is required.
  5. Strong creative problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail is required.
  6. Excellent communication skills, including listening, writing, and speaking is required.
  7. Ability to develop working relationship with Consultants, Clients, and General Contractors is required.
  8. Ability to interpret and translate building and design requirements into specifications is required.
  9. Experience with sustainable design and construction practices is
  10. Outstanding customer service skills when interacting with internal and external customers is required.
  11. Must be capable of leading small project independently is required.
  12. Ability to effectively train and mentor less seasoned team members is preferred.
  13. Wisconsin Driver License required.
  14. Pursing AIA and/or NCARB licensure preferred.
