The ideal candidate will contribute to our team by:

  1. Leading and/or directing others to complete projects from schematic design through construction documents.
  2. Leading project analysis, project profile, and site analysis during initial phase of project development.
  3. Leading the collaboration of General Contractor/Estimator, Quality Control, subcontractors, and suppliers for development of cost effective and constructible solutions for design issues.
  4. Leading the establishment of project scope and objectives, defining/interpreting the scope of project documents and owner requirements, project schedule, project budget, and resources needed for project.
  5. Leading the Project Team Kick-off Meeting and Collaborative Design Workshops.
  6. Serving as the client Lead for projects assigned.
  7. Effectively executing project scope, objectives, requirements, schedule, budged, and resources from schematic through construction document phases, for multiple projects, independently or directing a small team.
  8. Mentoring others on how to create construction details, including details and standards, and review shop drawings.
  9. Reviewing shop drawings.
  10. Creating, developing, and revising construction documents using Revit or CAD, including directing others in the development of construction documents.
  11. Serving as contact for the field during construction administration.
  12. Incorporating other disciplines designs, ensuring effective project collaboration between disciplines (e.g. MEP and Structural).
  13. Communicating with Studio Managers, KBA stakeholders, clients, contractors, and subcontractors on a frequent basis about project status.
  14. Maintaining consultant relationships.
  15. Developing and/or continuously improving client relationships.
  16. Maintaining professional and technical knowledge.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is preferred. Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  2. 8+ years of experience in a similar role is required.
  3. 8+ years of experience with AutoCAD and Revit is required.
  4. Previous experience in KBA’s building type is preferred.
  5. Knowledge of interior and exterior building code requirements is required.
  6. The ability to work collaboratively with other team members is required.
  7. The ability to lead and manage projects through your own work and directing the team is required.
  8. Previous project management experience is required.
  9. Previous client lead responsibilities are required.
  10. Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
  11. Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office) are required.
  12. Strong creative problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail is required.
  13. Excellent communication skills, including listening, writing, and speaking is required.
  14. Ability to develop working relationships with Consultants, Clients, and General Contractors is required.
  15. Ability to interpret and translate building and design requirements into specifications is required.
  16. Experience with sustainable design and construction practices is preferred.
  17. Outstanding customer service skills when interacting with internal and external customers is required.
  18. Capability of handling multiple assignments concurrently is required.
  19. Ability to effectively train and mentor less seasoned team members is required.
  20. Wisconsin Driver License required.
  21. Pursuing AIA and/or NCARB licensure preferred.
