Project Overview
Established in the vibrant downtown Madison near the University of Wisconsin campus, X01 provides student housing that seamlessly integrates with the city's rich history. Offering one- to five-bedroom apartments, the development includes the relocation and preservation of the 1930s St. Francis House chapel, which has been moved westward to enhance the site’s blend of history, religion, academia, and urban life. The building features a post-tensioned concrete structure with two levels of underground parking, and its contemporary façade combines stone, metal panels, and spandrel glazing. Articulated with metal balconies and railings, the design not only offers functional open space for residents but also maintains sensitivity to the solar impacts and sightlines of the surrounding historical and architectural context.
